Are you a Rotty or Pitty lover? Then For the Love of Dog – Rottweiler Rescue of NH is the rescue for you! Dedicated to Rottweilers and Pitbulls, For the Love of Dog allows residents of New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, and Massachusetts to adopt from them. Founded in 2004 For the Love of Dog was explicitly started for Rottweilers. Over time they expanded to include Pitbulls and, on occasion other mixed and bully breeds.

Adoption from For the Love of Dog Rescue

For the Love of Dog is an all-volunteer rescue with foster homes only.  Because adoptions take so much of the volunteers’ time from start to finish, they ask that you read over the adoption contract to ensure you meet their qualifications before applying. In addition to the contract terms, you need to be 21 years of age or older, live in one of the approved states, and do your own due diligence for breed-specific legislation in your town/city, enduring no loss in homeowner’s insurance.  No dog will be adopted by families with children under 6 years old unless that dog has lived with a child of similar age previously. All adopters must have previous experience with bully breeds, working dogs, or large-breed dominant dogs.

If you meet the requirements, you can go ahead and fill out the application. For the Love of Dog will check your references and do a home visit before approving you to adopt. If you have pets in the home, they must meet the potential new family member along with all the humans in the home.
